Nevada Healthcare/Insurance/Benefits

Some low-income residents of Nevada can now get healthcare benefits through the Expanded Nevada Medicaid. Enrollment began in October 2013. Residents can enroll at any time. Information can be found at the Nevada Access (link is external) website at https://dwss.nv.gov/ and click “Contact Us” on the left menu bar or by calling Toll Free 1-877-543-7669.

For individual assistance with enrolling in Expanded Nevada Medicaid or a Qualifying Health Plan you may contact a “Navigator Organization”. A Navigator is an individual or organization that’s trained and able to help consumers, small businesses, and their employees as they look for healthcare coverage options through the Nevada Health Link Marketplace. The Navigator can assist with explaining eligibility and completing enrollment forms. These individuals and organizations are required to be unbiased and cannot direct you to a plan or product. Their services are free to consumers. The certified Navigator Organizations in Nevada are:

Division of Insurance

As the Health Insurance marketplace changes due to Healthcare Reform, understanding the health insurance you are purchasing is more important than ever. The Nevada Division of Insurance can answer those questions as well as investigate complaints regarding healthcare insurance plans and Navigator Organizations. State of Nevada Office of Consumer Health Assistance

The mission of the Governor’s Office for Consumer Health Assistance (GovCHA) is to enable all Nevadans to access information they need to better manage their health care concerns, and to assist consumers and insured employees in understanding their rights and responsibilities under various health care plans and policies of industrial insurance.

GovCHA assists Nevadans in resolving their health care related issues:
